In many ways 2022 has been a challenging year for GoHire and I know that we’re not alone in that. Much of the year has been consumed with figuring out how to integrate the three branches so that each one is offering a consistent service and working with the same values at its core.
GoHire Chamberlain is still very young and Chris and the team have made massive headway in establishing it as a formidable contender in the local hire market. Juggling the finance and resources to keep up with the growth has been tricky, but as they say, it’s a good problem to have. November was a record month for that branch.

There have been changes in the GoHire team, with a senior member leaving the company. This has meant me rolling up my sleeves and getting back to basics in the branch, which has been fabulous for me, mainly to be seeing more customers, the favourite part of my job. Emily has left for maternity leave and Jack left the GoHire Goulton Street (still very much missed) for pastures new. We have three new faces at Chamberlain Road, Harvey, Neil and Pablo who are collectively smashing it down there. There have been no personnel changes at GoHire Grimsby but the team continues to provide an outstanding service for customers. We look forward to welcoming a new Branch Manager at Goulton Street.

We have experienced a lot of change this year, but the truth is, things do change. The business continues to develop and our lives can often take us in new directions.

As we head into the recession of 2023, surprisingly I feel calm, optimistic and also excited. In adversity, there is always opportunity and we have exciting development plans in store at GoHire. We’re extending both our hire and sales offerings, in addition to providing new services to our customers. Watch this space!

A professional highlight for me was being elected onto the Hire Association Europe Board of Tools, Plant and Equipment, where I will be flying the flag for women in the hire industry. Watch this space for more detail about this.

A personal highlight was seeing my eldest daughter be so proud of her achievements in her GCSEs. She worked very hard and really deserves those results.

As a family we endure some personal heartache which I won’t say too much about but only to say, we must make the most of today because none of us know what tomorrow will bring.

So I will sign off for now. Thank you 2022, for all the lessons I received. Thank you to the GoHire team for your unwavering professionalism and tenacity. Thank you to our customers who continue to support us.

I am excited to see what next year will bring, but for now, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, a peaceful rest and an exciting 2023.
