We are thrilled that our Hull depot Hire Manager, Rob Thompson has won the award for Employee of the Year at this year’s Hull Daily Mail Business Awards. 

 

Rob joined us as Depot Manager in 2017, leaving a national firm where he had worked for almost two decades to secure a senior role. 

 

He is credited with quickly identifying what equipment the company needed to invest in, to improve the customer offer in the areas that could do better than local competition - ensuring outstanding service was at the fore. 

 

This follows on from Rob being named Hire Manager of the Year and Hire Achiever at the UK Hire Awards of Excellence. He was named in the top three of a national industry event. His injection of energy and a level of professionalism has been welcomed, with management training and health and safety at the fore in new internal processes he has introduced. 

 

Managing Director of GoHire, Sally Wray said Rob has created jobs, generated revenue, improved the customer offer and embedded high standards. 

 

At the virtual awards, he said: “This is down to the hard work, not just doing my job but helping others out where help is needed. It is hard work, a lot of long hours, but the business is growing thanks to hard work throughout the team and customer focus is paramount. “Making sure they are coming into a nice atmosphere is part of the business.”
